Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 8 July 2026 · Applies to all UKBox services

1. The principle

Our services may only be used lawfully and considerately. This policy exists to protect our customers, our infrastructure, and the people your websites and emails reach. Breach of this policy may lead to suspension or termination under our Terms & Conditions.

2. Prohibited content and activity

  • Any unlawful content or activity, including content that infringes copyright, trade marks or other rights;
  • Child sexual abuse material of any kind — zero tolerance, immediate termination and reporting to the authorities;
  • Malware, phishing, fraudulent websites, or content designed to deceive;
  • Unauthorised access attempts, network scanning of third parties, or interference with any system;
  • Content that harasses, threatens or incites hatred or violence.

3. Email and anti-spam

Unsolicited bulk email is prohibited, whether sent through our network or advertising anything hosted on it. Marketing email must comply with UK law (PECR), including consent and working unsubscribe mechanisms. Bulk mailing-list software is not permitted on shared hosting; sending is subject to per-hour rate limits which exist to protect deliverability for every customer. If you have a legitimate high-volume need, talk to us about the right tool for it.

4. Resource behaviour

Shared hosting means shared: sustained activity that degrades the service for others (such as crypto-mining, abusive scripts or denial-of-service participation, whether deliberate or through a compromised site) may be contained or suspended to protect the platform. See also the Fair Usage Policy.

5. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for keeping your software, plugins and credentials secure, and for the activity of anyone you allow to use your services. If your site is compromised we will tell you and help where we reasonably can, but repeated neglect that endangers the platform may lead to suspension.

6. Reports

To report abuse involving a UKBox-hosted service, contact support or email support@ukbox.co.uk with details. We investigate all credible reports.
