Any service that asks you to "add a DNS record" — Google Search Console, Microsoft, Mailchimp, MailPoet, Stripe, a booking system — is asking for an entry in your domain's zone. If your domain uses our nameservers, that lives in cPanel.
- Open cPanel → Domains → Zone Editor and click Manage next to the domain.
- Click Add Record, choose the type the service specified (TXT, CNAME, MX or A), and paste the name and value exactly as given. For the name, most services accept either the short form (
mailpoet1._domainkey) or the full one (mailpoet1._domainkey.yourdomain.co.uk). - Save. Records are live on our side within minutes; the service checking them may take up to a few hours to notice.
Two things people get caught by: a CNAME can't share a name with any other record (so you can't make www a CNAME while an A record for www still exists — delete the A record first), and changing your MX records moves your email, so don't touch those unless that's what you intend.
