Two ways to get files onto your hosting. For anything up to a few hundred megabytes, File Manager is quicker and nothing to configure.
File Manager (in cPanel): Files → File Manager → open public_html (that's your website's root; addon domains have their own folder alongside it) → Upload. Uploading a whole site? Zip it first, upload the one file, then right-click it → Extract. Far faster than thousands of individual files.
FTP (FileZilla or similar):

That drops you at the account's home folder; the website is inside public_html. Leave any "default remote directory" settings blank.
"421 Too many connections" in FileZilla: FileZilla opens several connections at once and the server caps them. In FileZilla go to File → Site Manager → your site → Transfer Settings, tick Limit number of simultaneous connections and set it to 2. Reconnect.
