It's your site, and you can have full administrator access to it — we'd just like you to know what that changes.
To get it: open a ticket asking for an administrator login and we'll create one in your name (we don't share the account we use ourselves). You'll be able to write posts and pages, and install plugins and themes.
What changes: content you edit yourself is of course fine. But plugins and themes you install, and settings you change, sit outside the monthly change allowance — if one of them breaks the site, getting it working again is a chargeable job or a restore from backup that undoes your recent changes too. Updates to WordPress, the theme and the plugins we installed stay with us; please leave those to us.
The safer option for most people is an Editor login: you can change any content, but can't install anything that could take the site down. Ask for that instead if all you want is to keep the words and pictures current.
